May 2, 2024 - LET IT BREATHE FOR 45 MINUTES AND THEN EVERYONE AT THE TABLE (A MAGNUM) WHAT IS THIS IT IS WONDERFUL................AND THEY WERE RIGHT. IT CAN GET BETTER AND I WILL TRY ONE A YEAR BUT CERTAINLY A CROWD PLEASER AND A GREAT BOTTLE. CAPS NOT YELLING
April 15, 2024 - More integrated on second day. Worth a decant on first day?
March 25, 2024 - Loved this just as much as almost 2 years ago. Plenty of dark fruits, super silky smooth with soft tannins. Superb!
February 27, 2024 - awesome wine.
July 7, 2023 - PnP.
Day 1: Grenache dominates, beautiful nose. Oak, very ripe dark red fruit, alcohol. Oaky and tannic finish.
Day 2: completely different wine and frankly much more enjoyable. Nose of ripe dark red fruit, dried herbs, soy sauce (?). On the palate, alcohol, ripe silky fruit, less oak than previous day. Finish still oaky, sweet tannins.
Three hours in on day 2: this just keeps getting better and better. Astonishing really. Oak is less up front and better integrated. Long long finish.
Will give it a couple years before opening another one. 93+
May 29, 2023 - Decanted for one hour. Nose of black raspberry, black cherry, bramble, red licorice, vanilla and spice. Black raspberry, black cherry, spice, bramble, red licorice and vanilla on the palate. Very long, layered finish. Full bodied. Served with hickory smoked beef brisket.
May 17, 2023 - Blend of 58% Grenache, 20% Mataro, 11% Tannat, 8% Graciano, 3% Syrah. The Grenache dominates but the other varietals give it a darker, brooding element, with black fruit and a little smoke (?).
March 26, 2023 - Guess what…it’s just as good out of a magnum. See prior notes.
January 7, 2023 - Wow!
December 11, 2022 - No smoke taint in this 2017. Full bodied minus Grenache with other grapes to make it most interesting. Complex and thoroughly enjoyable. Decanted for an hour, but it was open on pnp. It a fruit bomb. It has layers of complexity. G2 is terrific.
