January 7, 2022 - Luscious. Deep with a salty richness. Has some nice age notes, but not over the hill. Parker said it would to to 2023 and that seems about right, at least. Fades slightly on the finish, but up to then it's all there.

March 31, 2019 - Our last one. From a cool year....so more 'elegant' than typical Aussie shiraz. It is definitely showing it's age a bit more...super smooth, no tannins, lovely floral bouquet, still some fruit but with very pronounced mint, eucalyptus, cedar and spice notes. Still wonderful and would probably last several more years but expect a continued steady decline.

April 6, 2018 - Lighter than I remember. Lots of licorice this time, along with black cherry, and coffee. Still looks and smells young. Really smooth drinking. One left to consume, probably within next 12-15 months.

March 1, 2018 - Elderton masterclass with Cameron Ashmead (wine ark alexandria): Oxidised, leather, muted back fruits and liquorice. Juicy, concentrated black fruits, textured, thick but relatively lightweight tannins. All in all there is a sensation of disappointment for me….based on the older vintages I've tried I don't this is in tip-top condition.

November 3, 2017 - Lousy cork fell apart while being extracted. Fortunately there was no sign of leakage and there were no offensive cork odours. Decanted the wine through a fine cloth and allowed to breathe for five (5) hours in the cellar at 15 degrees. A bit of caramel oak and fruit on the bouquet which also came through on the palate the fruit being surprisingly evident (primary) in an eighteen year old wine. Soft tannins, acid in balance, chocolate caramel oak, excellent mouth feel and length that just goes on and on. This wine would have gone another decade under screw cap but under cork it is a bloody lottery.
I rate this bottle at 94.

August 4, 2017 - After a decant and two hours breathing this wine literally sang. Creamy oak, backbone of fruit, subtle acid and fine slightly furry tannins. Delightful full bodied mouth feel, luscious and lingering length. Amazing drinking now (particularly with food) but will likely cellar for another decade in a good cellar. 92+
