March 22, 2024 - Again, in a nice spot to drink, that is... Bouquet of spice, roses, with a tad of rusticity on the palate. This could potentially still improve with more cellar time.

February 9, 2023 - 20th Engagea-half-aversary: Double decanted and then poured 4 hours later. Initially had a lot of oak, but blew off with time. Nice mature red fruit on the nose with a fully integrated palate. Deep red fruit notes, some purple fruit and a solid weight and body. This is GC all the way. The cedar box never quite fully integrates, which is a signature on these wines. Wonderful pairing and a very, very good wine.

January 24, 2023 - Best showing of this wine to date! PnP, elegant, long finish. On the Red fruited side. Just hitting its stride.

December 11, 2022 - A friend opened one last night - not as good as previous 2 bottles. Fruit was muted, not as expressive. Still great but needed food. Bottle variance ? Unsure.

November 19, 2022 - Umm. The notes and reviews on this one are pretty darn good. Can’t say that I am feeling it The nose is quite good - complex, layered, filled with notes of red berries, orange peel, Asian spice and dry earth. Nice. The palate? It’s good, for sure. Yet it’s missing anything that hints to greatness. Lean, muted fruit is well balanced with supporting elements. But is all lean and lacking anything cerebral. It’s there and it’s good but shows nothing interesting. Works fine at the dinner table but would elicit little dialog beyond, “May I have some more to go with the meat?” Boring. Certainly not what I would expect from Beze. Again, good wine but not worth the price of Grand Cru Burgundy. A sell all candidate. (89)

October 26, 2022 - Rustic, earthy, better paired with food than on its own. There's not enough fruit here to suggest further age will improve it.

October 5, 2022 - More fruitful than other Faiveley 2001s but still muted. Nice fruit, mineral and weight but not extraordinary.

August 14, 2022 - 3 hours of air in the bottle

Complex and dense nose of dark berries, spice, herbs and earth, rose petals. Long and firm on the palate, still resolving tannins and not huge delineation but great acidity; woodsy and delicious but still needs a few more years for apogee. Very good today with air.

July 30, 2022 - Really beautiful - tannins almost fully resolved. Berry notes, some muscle.
