Aroma was both blackberry & Blueberry juice with some background baking spices.
Tannins have smoothed quite nicely and the mouthfeel is just short of velvet.
More Blueberry on the palate and a descent finish.
May 15, 2024 - Poured into decanter and then into glass. Very tight at first with harsh edges, but also with rich underlying fruit and dark flavors. Eventually it was like a mixture of two wines - one that was rich, ripe, full-bodied, and velvety. The other was harsh with an almost muddy texture and flavor. The "good" one was probably a 92-93. The "bad" one was an 87-88. Don't think it was flawed, but will not score.

January 19, 2024 - Impressive bottle, big surprise as I hadn't had this wine before. Red and black fruits, some minerals and herbal notes. Integrated tannins. This performed so much better than many other 2017s I've had. Ready to go! Decanted and hour and consumed over 3 hours

March 1, 2022 - Cedar and Kirsch scent. Thick earth, tar, licorice and blackberry flavor. Fine zippy tannins on the long finish. Heavy-handed style. Much better on day two. Calmed down and opened up.
