September 17, 2014 - The nose is almost like very old Calvados on the palate, and a little spirity but it works. Molasses, smoke and orange on the palate, nice concentration. This is quite good.

August 13, 2014 - started harsh but by week two was drinking delicious - smooth and w nice long finish. only wish the malmsey flavors were stronger.

February 16, 2014 - Really enjoyed this. Plum stands out the most here. A hint of dried raisin and a hint of caramel and vanilla. Smooth and medium bodied. I wish the finish lasted longer but it is still very nice and should drink well now or in 10-30 yrs if you can wait.

February 2, 2014 - For most of the bottle after opening it had this scotch-like flavor in the mouth, a certain brashness. A couple of weeks later as I finish it, it tastes just as smooth and wonderful as always. Taking a point out for that initial issue.

January 26, 2014 - Still v good but this bottle wasnt nearly as crisp, and the finish not as memorable, as the prior bottle I had.

(NV Broadbent Madeira Malmsey 10 Years Old) An outstanding value, this is my house Madeira. Maple color with a defined yellow edge. Aromatics belie the wine’s age, delivering intricate nuances of beef bouillon, sea air, roasted nuts, lemon, and caramelized sugar. Sweet, with bracing acidity and flavors of butterscotch, lemon zest, and pralines. A delicious, complex midpalate yields to a finely tuned, lingering aftertaste. Although reasonably priced Madeiras often lack the richness and unctuosity of more expensive bottlings, this wine delivers a smooth, viscous, refined mouthfeel.
