December 18, 2015 - From magnum. No formal notes, but this was a good showing. Flowing nebbiolo, secondary and sweet oak-tinged aromatics, hallmark Chiara Boschis fruit and mouthfeel and good freshness despite the vintage. This took its time to unwind in the decanter and shows no signs of falling over. Plenty more to come in this format.

November 14, 2015 - An evening of Barolo and screening of The Barolo Boys (Old World Deli, Bellingham, WA): A really stark difference to taste this after the regal Monprivato. If Chiara Boschis set out to make a modern Barolo, she certainly accomplished that. Truly in the vein of the international style. Opacity, extraction, vanilla oak - it's all there. On this evening, this bottle added a nice contrast, representing one side of the spectrum. Certainly the subject of lively conversation. Chiara Boschis is featured prominently in the film The Barolo Boys, as a proponent of the modern Barolo style.

November 12, 2015 - Just tasted Sandrone's le vigne 01 (big hit!) and wanted to taste some more barolo. This also is a great wine, and it adds roses to the bouquet (a whiff and then it was gone...), takes out the fruit altogether, and the tobacco piney, leathery notes are stronger (whereas theses scents were 'dry' with the sandrone, it is like these scents are more 'humid' and therefore present in this wine). It is slightly less harmonious and burgundy like than Le vigne, but impressive nonetheless and texturally it is perhaps easier to like. Drink now?

October 25, 2015 - Very pretty right now with lingering sweet/sour cherry fruit and restrained secondary flavors of mushrooms and tobacco. All comes together in a medium to full bodied wine that can provide material for those who like to analyze their wines and pleasure for those that like to just drink them. Enough acidity to accompany pasta or pizza vary nicely. Don't expect this will improve and may decline so now is a good time to drink them.

August 5, 2015 - good and solid performance, still youngish with plenty of tannin and good acid, barolo typicity with tea and brambly fruit, nice wine and very young, might be better in five to ten years
