April 10, 2024 - What a nose - tobacco, leather and blackcurrant fruit.
Firm tannins and stewed fruit on the palate. Lots to enjoy but it does taste like it's drying out a bit.
June 18, 2023 - Deep ruby colour. Pronounced and developing nose with red plum, blackcurrant, blackberry, eucalyptus, cloves, cedar, leather, earth, tobacco and pencil. Pronounced taste of red plum, blackcurrant, blackberry, eucalyptus, cloves, cedar, leather, earth, tobacco and pencil. Long and dry finish. Medium acidity. Medium tannins. Medium body. A very good Margaux that has matured beautifully. Drink now or over the next ten years. Goes well with beef or lamb.
May 1, 2023 - Deep garnet red with leather-toned brim. Very pleasant, mature nose with notes of leather, underbrush and corints. Mouthfeel is fully mature with tannins totally integrated, with nice acidity, some fruit and notes of leather, underbrush and corints.
This is today fully mature and will not improve more, on the other hand it's in a nice spot and will most probably drink well for some three to five years more.
April 6, 2023 - Noise of forest floor and mushrooms. Taste of limited, but still flavorful fruit of prune with soft tannins. Was worried I was too late on this one, but it was a delightful old margaux.
March 24, 2023 - Fruit fading just a little, not as earthy as one might hope for, but still good enough for steak and mushrooms.
January 31, 2023 - Fruit fading tannins resolved low acidity Still with reasonable balance. Surprised/ disappointed as not much earthiness. I was worried based on other notes it would be too sweet it was not. Suffered in comparison to cliff lede poetry 2003 open at same time
December 7, 2022 - In its prime drinking window. Rich garnet color with classic mature Bordeaux notes of soft fruits and leather with silky tannins.
November 17, 2022 - Floral, mature claret still fresh. Pairs well with food and enjoyable although that complex in grand scheme.
February 28, 2022 - From memory, this is a wine in its prime drinking window. The fruit has matured and the tannin has sweetened, and all in all delivers a great Bordeaux experience.
July 4, 2021 - Found no Margaux flowers. Cedar cassis. Perhaps
