December 30, 2020 - Green apricot and petroleum dominate nose. Palate nicely balanced between acid and fruit with extensive mineral depth. Quite slate driven. Sweetness right. Very long finish.

Golden to bronze in the glass. Smells of ripe apples and slightly of ripe orange peel. In the mouth then additional petroleum notes. Still has a subtle minerality, freshness. Nice round and a little bit oily, creamy. Very nice length in the finish, with a well integrated acidity. Still holds up well, but would probably have been better 2-3 years ago. Probably approaching the end of its drinking window.

July 8, 2018 - Pnp. Pours a deep golden yellow in the glass. Nose and palate show lovely tropical and orchard fruits with a squeeze of sweet meyer lemon top. Midpalate is lush, oily, and deep with an acidic backbone that makes this stand tall. Super fresh, electric, and rich all at once. A great wine to sip on in the burning LA heat.

April 21, 2018 - PNP. cork was leaky to top. Color is light gold. Nose has TDN Some lemon curd white peach and spice. Swishing shows substantial RS With acid in the background but this definitely leans toward the Sweet side. this would be dynamite with spicy food but without feels a little clumsy. Good tho

September 16, 2017 - Another good showing for this bottle. In a good place now showing mature riesling notes, medium body, decent acidity and petrol. Paired with Indian food.

December 23, 2016 - Definitely of the sweeter side of Spatlese, as some guessed it as an Auslese blind. Very good, and I'm a sucker for aged Riesling, but this didn't quite cross the line into great. Nice more mature fruit, good minerality and acidity (though a little more acidity wouldn't have hurt), the requisite petrol note, a little white flower, and appropriately full mouthfeel.

November 8, 2016 - Beautiful! Slight petrol, honey, botrytis, baked apple, poached pear, a touch tropical and great acidity to balance the sweetness. This has plenty of life ahead and is drinking great now.

February 6, 2012 - NobleRottersSydney - German night (Alio's, Surry Hills): AP 11 05 [8%, cork] {DavidM} Dark lemon/yellow in colour, with an aged bouquet still of apples, but with a browning tinge, and more minerals than slate. The palate is aged; apples, certainly, but brown sugar too, and cinnamon. This is at least half way along the dry-sweet spectrum I reckon. It’s still light-medium bodied, and although the acid is still cutting through, for me it can’t quite support the sweetness now to justify further aging. But it has an even palate, and a medium finish, and really there’s nothing to complain about here. Ready to drink now.
