December 31, 2018 - Great Bordeaux.
Nose:
Old cottage and caramel.
Mouth:
Tobacco, gooseberry, cedar and plum.
This wine was more fun to enjoy because of the age than the taste.
October 1, 2018 - Completely saturated cork upon opening, sherry/madeira on the nose which blew off the next 20 minutes, cedar, black berry, black cherry, violets, and pencil shavings, more of the same on the palate, medium/big body, mouth filling fruit, almost elegant tasting, good acid, slightly old but showing well tonight, very tasty, delicious with roast chicken dinner, and a long finish.
September 17, 2016 - Bottle in Perfect condition. Very smooth and perfectly rounded paulliac.
September 28, 2012 - Tasted against 70 and 98 Beychevelle and 00 Agassac. WOTN. Delicious. Bright acidity and firm tannin. Vibrant. Heavy hay nose. Still copious dark fruit. Beautiful. Years to go.
June 2, 2010 - Strawberry core with brick edges. This wine had a very heavy, earthy aroma with lots of Brett and forest floor. There was also quite a bit of mint and eucalyptus along with some strawberry gum, rosemary, pot pouri, vanilla and dried fruit. The tannins were very leathery, and there was great acidity and length. There were notes of coffee, chocolate, tobacco and leather on the super long finish.
May 4, 2010 - Excellent condition bottle, great fill and cork.
Very nice 78 - classic Pauillac, cedary, nice acid, very nice wine.
March 7, 1996 - Excellent old style bordeaux, right age, ripe bouquet and flavour although still a lot of body left.
