January 17, 2024 - Core club tasting. Tobacco. Dark. Mouth watering. Woody. Delicious. Call me in 2027/8

November 4, 2022 - Plum Market luxury wine tasting. In my opinion these kind of wine tastings are almost worthless for such young/higher-end wines that need more time and aren’t allowed to breathe much before serving. Purple fruit - currants, dark cherry, blackberry, and some plum. Smooth mid-palate but a lighter profile than expected - medium body. Nice flavors of dark berries, some spice, cassis, and a graphite component. Decent finish but not overly long nor deep. Enjoyable but I expected more in light of the 97+ rating from WA. However, it is also so young. I’ll refrain from rating it because it needs more time to open-up/develop further. WA anticipated maturity 2024 to 2044 which makes sense. 87% cab sauvignon, 8% petit verdot, 3% malbec, and 2% cab franc.
August 7, 2022 - Phelps does not disappoint. Big dark brooding. Smells very spicy and herbaceous. Mouth coating with deep smooth but intense tannins. Would love to taste in 10 years or more. I always tell myself I need to taste a Phelps much older. I have only once and it was one of the best wines of memory.
April 9, 2022 - Napa in the City: Masterclass & Lunch (The Pool/Grill): Another wine that feels a bit closer to the standard Napa valley wine - it's all dark and intense fruit and then there's a bit of the floral and more aggressively so so that it reminds me of handsoap. Mouth coating tannin. Almost a bit spicy in style. Again I wonder how it will age and so I'm not 100% sure about it but it's not really over-ripe it's just big and bold and sometimes those at the wines with the ability to last for many many years.
April 9, 2022 - Napa in the City. 2019/2018 Napa Valley Masterclass with Antonio Galloni and top winemakers (The Pool restaurant, Manhattan): One of the two "blends" in the line up. Black concentrated fruit on the nose. Stewed blackberries with prunes, blueberry and eucalyptus. A juicy, balanced and approachable wine, even at this young age.
November 16, 2021 - Wanted to taste this highly rated wine while young. Wine opened up in about 45 minutes. Nice nose of cedar/leather, dark fruits with the taste following with black cherry and currants and black raspberries. Tannins were silky and smooth leaving the finish long with lingering black cherries. This will age well and could be one of those perfect wines.
