April 10, 2024 - Very drinkable in 2024. Better on day two - reasonably full body for price
December 22, 2023 - red fruit mostly, hint of cedar. Maybe needs more age or oxygen.
Not too complex at the moment.
Medium bodied
November 12, 2023 - Best Italian QPR you can find now a days. $27.99. This went very well with some pizza. Nothing powerful just most complimentary.
September 17, 2023 - Very good value. Red fruits, cherry, raspberry and tobacco. Soft tannins.
August 14, 2023 - Two years later let's see what we have now...
Aromas of strawberry jam, dried tobacco which turns to sweet tobacco as time goes by, perfume, bacon fat, and balsamic.
Flavours of plum, cranberry, and vanilla with tobacco overwhelm the mid-palate to a quick thin finish at first. Then it becomes sweet and savory. The wine is juicy with a little bit of mouth-drying tannins to compliment the medium acidity.
June 19, 2023 - Fleshy and a bit jammy supertuscan. 2018 is surely in a good stage now, the tannins are settled while still holding some backbone.
It feels a bit overproduced, which is a common issue with these mid-tier Toscana IGT:s.
Well made, but not my liking.
May 21, 2023 - On opening, pretty nose of blueberries and mint. Allowed to breathe in bottle two hours before pouring which was probably a mistake as the expressiveness dissipated after pouring. Medium body with fine but grippy tannins. Expected more acidity. Okay but not at all special. Would not buy again.
April 9, 2023 - Trinkreif - sehr schön.
February 9, 2023 - Great value wine. Not a wine to be aged (look to the Le Serre Nuove or the flagship Ornellaia for that), but a wine I definitely want to have more of in my cellar for drinking now. Easy drinking with smooth tannins, but enough complexity to make it interesting.
January 29, 2023 - My prior tasting note applies. Delightful as ever as our second bottle to accompany a meal of ribs, tuscan beans, and sautéed artichokes.
