February 10, 2013 - Difficult not to give this a 90--but for QPR, more like a 92. Bought this at Costco in 2007 for $8.99. Has delivered three times previously (though a bit dumb in late 2011). Tonight was superb: silky cassis and plum aromas and flavors, classic Meritage in every respect. And oh that pricetag. Cannot argue there. This is my last of four bottles. Goodbye Lot 29. November 8, 2011 - Drink up. Vanillin oak, sweet plum, prune.
January 14, 2011 - Cassis and green pepper aromas, with plum, currant and herbaceous flavor. Long, juicy aftertaste with herbal, eucalyptus, and a bit of tar. Silky texture, light on its feet. So nice for the $8.99 price I paid for it back in 5/2007--and has improved and integrated just as expected/hoped.
March 1, 2010 - Dark, full-bodied with good cab flavors. Still has strong tannins. Should improve with another year or two.
December 21, 2009 - Great quaffer. Monolithic, but holds its own with food.
July 28, 2009 - Got a couple of these from my father in law a year or two ago. Just opened the first one. Fruit on the nose of currants and plum. Very little tannin at this point, but its there. Great flavor. I drank the glass with some 72% chocolate and found them a perfect pair. I'm gonna sit on the other bottle for another year or so and see what happens. Great value.
June 20, 2009 - Wonderful fruit (Cab) nose. Beautiful balance and complexity. Last bottle. :-(
April 12, 2009 - Still very good, a little softer and more mellow than last time.
January 26, 2009 - Not too bad.
December 21, 2008 - Nose of ripe red berries with a bit of mocha, a little bit of alcohol. decent amount of medicinal cherry and blueberry on the palate with some tannins on the finish. Not a bad finish about 15 seconds just a LITTLE bit hot. Not too shabby for $10. I've enjoyed this and wish I had some more.
