March 6, 2024 - Drinking well now, more mellow and rounded than a few years ago. An impressive Ladoix blanc. Drink or hold.

July 5, 2023 - Enjoyable. Paired with mixed nuts and hard cheeses. Core of a ripe cantaloupe, apples, and a whiff of sea shells. Not super complicated, but it doesn't pretend to be.

February 4, 2022 - Søte grønne epler, fersken, smør mineraler i nesa.

April 11, 2021 - Very good concentration for a village wine. This wine presents a rather dry, nutty, mineral palate. Some lemon and minerals on the nose. There is also noticeable oak on the finish, which I would prefer to be more integrated. For that reason I would suggest cellaring this for another two years or so, at which time the oak should stand out less. If you like Faiveley whites (and I do), don’t hesitate to try this one.

April 10, 2021 - Faiveley is just out here making great wine at reasonable (for Burgundy) prices. Lovely flintiness, lemon oil and white flowers on the nose; the palate has an attractive glycolic texture and the metallic minerality returns on the finish. Not super incisive, reflecting the vintage, but extremely well done. You can always feel good about taking these wines home, because you know you're going to get something really good in your glass at every level.

(89)**** For a long time, driven by economic pragmatism and a desire to support truly local products, I avoided négociants (sometimes also "éleveurs'), thinking that a small-scale grower would better manage the entire process from vine to glass and would be more trustworthy and synonymous with quality than a purchaser of must or grapes. Over the years, bottles bearing the names Jadot, Drouhin, Latour, Bichot or Faiveley have convinced me that there is (very) good wine to be found everywhere, especially considering that in the last 25 years, some negociants have acquired beautiful vineyards and changed their commercial culture and practices. I'm not entirely sure where the grapes for this very appealing 2018 Ladoix come from (according to their own admission, the vines are quite young), with a slightly pronounced oak influence for my taste and still a bit tight. But its floral and buttery nose, ample shoulders, and aromatic clarity (toasted bread) make this white Ladoix a wine that holds its own in an early vintage. Paired with asparagus salad and chicken satay with peanut sauce, it performed admirably (89)
