June 24, 2019 - Stewed strawberry, plum and orange. Palate had medium plus acidity but the mid-palate flavour was a bit short. Nose showed better than the palate.

April 7, 2016 - Sometimes old bottles offer up surprises. This bottle, from the first Steve Verlin auction, was a stud. Fresh, but gorgeously mature. A wow bottle.

January 9, 2008 - Tasting Group Dinner (Brad's House, Minneapolis): Amber/caramel color. Heavily maderized. Flavors of stewed strawberries, blood orange, and caramel. Almost no bubbles. I thought this was over-the-hill, but others liked it much more.

January 9, 2008 - Wednesday Again: The color is an intriguing orange/pink blend -- similar to a very old sauterne. The nose is a bit oxidized/maderized, but delightful. The taste is expansive and excellent (featuring blood orange, carmel, brown sugar and orange peel), with good intensity from the attack through the finish. Bubbles are mild. There is quite a bit of acidity. Nice finish. I felt this would show considerably better if served with food -- maybe a well-flavored salmon dish.

January 9, 2008 - Nice. Great nose, very strong on the attack, a bit light in the mid-palate, but overall quite good.
