    August 31, 2014 - 92-93 wow.

    give it atleast an hour.
blue and black fruit on the nose. smoke, chalk, game, leather, dunlop...? each glass gives something new. medium body with serious complexity. textured with dusty tannin. velvet is an overused term but holds true here.

this reminds me of a hearty beef stew. savory notes take the lead but are not overbearing.

absolutely drinkable now but safe for another 5 years minimum. A worthy investment.

July 12, 2014 - Gave it a 2 hour decant. Dark purple; lots of blue and black fruit with shunt of pepper. Silky on the tongue and through the finish. An excellent CdP; probably should have held longer, but excellent in its youth.

July 7, 2014 - Very slight brick rim. Nose is quite typical, strong fresh dark fruit with a nice wood smoke touch. Entry is delicious with a lovely quite strong and sweet fruit. Back end is surprisingly short with very fine tannins coming very late. There is a nice menthol that stays quite a bit longer, a little pepper that adds a nice touch. A bit leafy over time. This is very juicy, slippery and easy to drink.

July 2, 2014 - Decanted at restaurant for 30 mins - could have used more time. This is a big, but not overpowering, CdP. Syrah dominant at this stage: black and blue fruit, black pepper on the nose and palate. Round, satisfying finish. Lots of backbone, so expect this will only improve.

May 14, 2014 - Tasted blind at the "Rhone Wine Tasting" at Bistro Provence, Bethesda
Color dark as Egypt's night, swallows the light!
on nose some sweetness, licorice, anis. On palate at first quite soft and almost water, then come the tannins.
Becomes drier after a while and gains in stature. My guess was: a Cornas.
