September 26, 2016 - This was beautiful from the start, opened but didn't decant following a previous TN advice, let it sit for a while and it was really good, very complex, sometimes a bit hollow in the middle, but a great experience. The persistence on this baby was absolutely remarkable,I loved it.1 person found this helpful Comment

September 24, 2016 - Tight, tart, and tannic. Iron structure with little to no fruit underneath. no nose for about an hour, after which some damp soil and red cedar began to come through. Soy and a bit of spice. Dry. Pretty tough stuff and not a lot of pleasure here.

August 13, 2016 - Not exactly the best Bordeaux vintage but I was made an offer I could not refuse. Popped and poured for dinner tonight. Quite dark but with pronounced browning on the edge. Pronounced coffee nose with touches of blackberries, currants, floral notes and meat. Medium+ body but very soft. On the palate, sweet spices. The fruit is pretty ripe with a bit of sweetness to it although the wine itself has a lean frame. Some acidity at the back end. Earthy notes and dried herbs. Pretty dry. Medium+ length. Definitely not for decanting and an open bottle should be consumed within 2 hours before starting to fall apart. Still, I found it very good but certainly past peak and should be consumed soon.

July 30, 2016 - Annual Wine Group Summer Event - BBQ Brisket at Siggy's (Siggy & Jenny's Place, Mpls, MN): Drank glass over 20-30 minutes. This bottle wasn't quite as inviting as the last one we had. A bit more funk and dank earth up front, the perfume is still there but it gets masked a bit by the funk. The palate has cassis, raspberry, charcoal, tobacco, and some pretty firm tannins yet. Very good if a bit more rustic tonight. 91+ to 92pts.

June 20, 2016 - This is starting to come into its own. Lush but mature flavours of blackberry and blackcurrant, really good length, still tannic on back end. Lovely and still on the up.

(Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande) From magnum - dark red violet color; mushroom, leather and cedar nose; tasty, well structured, rounded cassis and red fruit palate; medium-plus finish (45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Franc, 8% Petit Verdot)

(Chateau Pichon-Lalande Pauillac) Dark, deeply coloured, mature. An impressive nose, loaded with a super-sweet depth of smoky, meaty, blackcurrant nose. The palate keeps up appearances, with a wealth of big, sweet, glossy, creamy and textured fruit. Very accessible, voluptuous, although with a tannic backbone. Exotic. Balanced. Absolutely gorgeous wine. Approachable now, but with a little tannin still showing in the finish as well this has room for improvement yet.
