February 15, 2024 - Hot vintage crafted a well balanced, concentrated and enduring Hermitage. Farmed from 30+ year old vines, aged for 36 months in oak barrels, 50% new. Deep garnet, ruby hue. Intense rich aroma of smoky plums and black cherries, black pepper, earth, tobacco, cold cuts, potpourri, with time violets emerge. Medium+ body, an open and generous filled with silky elegance, fully integrated refined high tannins and high acidity. Smoky violets and earthy black fruit flavours, touches of chocolate, salinity, long finish.

November 23, 2023 - I suspect the product of a hot vintage, and a producer chasing Parker points. Was okay, but the fruit seemed rather more "cooked" than "crisp". Drink now, no point in waiting.

October 29, 2023 - drinking perfectly. Black fruits, quite floral, and huge length.

October 20, 2023 - Probably as bad as my first bottle. Could possibly be imbibed, but for me it was a straight-down-the-drain bottle, the second of two.

April 9, 2023 - Amazingly primal at 20 years out. This bottle could have gone another 10 years easily. Very pronounced black fruit and spice. Multi-layered with a long finish.

June 2008 (link)(E. Guigal Hermitage) Garnet with a brownish rim. Aromas of smoky bacon, forest floor, leather, garrigue, and white pepper, with redcurrant and blackberry fruit in the background. Smooth texture, demonstrating well-integrated tannins and acidity. Complex finish emphasizes the earthy minerality. Terroir: Hermitage
