April 25, 1992 - Tasted at a Singer & Foy survey of Ridge wines. Incredible black black-purple-ruby color. Great plums/black fruits on the nose. Palate is full, rounded, silky-and fat. However it's a decent mouthful of fruit. Lacking a little concentration. 5-10-12-5: 82/100.

July 1, 1991 - Ruby-magenta color. Thick; coats the glass. Excellent color, excellent depth. Fruity. A tad hollow. Some chocolate. You little stemmy. Hard and quite tannic on the palate-even somewhat "green". Still, has a juicy flavor I like. Not the best Barbera I've ever had, and maybe would improve with time, but still enjoyable. 5-9-13-6: 83/100.
