    August 18, 2016 - Decanted 4+ hours.
Aromas show varietally and regionally correct with strong oak influence.
Scents of red currant, cherry and plum with cigar box, sage, dill, fresh split coconut and hints of vanilla, pine and earth.
The palate is firm with bold, high level tannins. Acidity is balances and provides structure. Flavors of red currant, cherry and plum come with cedar, herbs of dill, bay leaf and sage. Black pepper notes, dark coffee and bittersweet chocolate notes present as well. Long and chewy on the finish. to me this still has a way to go and should continue to develop for sometime.

May 6, 2016 - Well within the drinking window. Exclllent as always. Last bottle a year ago was prob a little better so likely on start of decline but I have no complaints. Drink up!

March 26, 2016 - Agree with the comments on tannins below. I expected much more from silver oak, especially after a 10+ years nap.

March 6, 2016 - Done. Drink up. Pleasant nose but really lacking on the palate with no finish at all. Should have drunk 18-24 months ago.

December 5, 2015 - Initially dominated by oak on the nose and an unpleasantly woodiness on the palate. After a two hour decant, this dissipated. Black fruit and tea predominate. Better balanced than I had anticipated though not particularly complex. Tannins are not yet resolved. Probably at the start of its drinking window.
