June 9, 2017 - Beautiful golden color. Citrus, pineapple, melon, wet stone encrusted by a light on its feet sweetness. Better in the mouth than nose. This was worth the wait

May 7, 2017 - Absolutely delicious. Nose expressively fragrant showing white fruit, flowers and gentle spice with a hint of hydrocarbon. Palate medium/light bodied; seamless and perfectly balanced between elements of fruit, gentle sweetness, minerals, spice, mouth-watering acidity with creamy undertow and some backbone on the finish. Excellent.

January 8, 2016 - Very pretty wine. I can't really say that age added much, but the base lacey structure and citrus blossom notes were lovely. Balanced and complete. Quite enjoyable.

eta - I just saw my note of 5 yrs ago and this was a far far better wine. So I guess the aging did make a difference.

92 pts

November 7, 2014 - CDP and Spain, Plus Whites (Rincon 38, Mpls, MN): Light gold color. The nose has citrus, minerals, melon, pineapple, no petrol. The palate is sweet with the acids providing just enough backdrop to keep this balanced well, tropical, pineapple, melon, kiwi, very vibrant palate, long finish. The palate was even better than the nose here. 91+ to 92pts.

Rockss and Fruit

(Donnhoff Schlossbockleheimer Kupfergrube Riesling Spatlese) Subtle nose of white flowers and a whiff of cherries. Outrageously complex palate with a beautiful viscous texture and a long meandering finish. The acid seems much more present than it did on release. It seems to have some of it's baby fat.

(Donnhoff Schlossbockleheimer Kupfregrube Spatlese) Dramatic nose of mashed nuts, kiwi, minerals, salt, white peach andcitrus. Very complex. Like concentrated and ripe lime juice on the palate with a hint of exotic orange citrus fruits with the famous as Mark Hanes calls it "the Donnhoff dissolve." Good, but not great. I was expecting more
