April 10, 2024 - Showed beautifully last night. Evolved over the course of the evening, showing a complete and well-integrated wine. There were little hints of mineral and fruit here and there but after several hours open this was showing lush brioche cake with sugar along with concentrated white flower aromas of jasmine and honeysuckle. Just a joy to drink and in perfect condition. There were times I would have been okay with a touch more acidity but to drink an aged CC of this quality there's not much room to nitpick

August 18, 2022 - This was a rich golden hue with a beautiful subtle nose and a rich delicious palate of apricots and honey. Super balanced and drinking. The cork as a little brittle but this bottle survived. Looking forward to the other 5

April 6, 2022 - beautiful wine enjoyed along a CC 1996 from Faiveley. the Bonneau du Martray combined power and purity whereas the Faiveley was power and richness. different styles, both great and ready now

February 18, 2022 - Tasted blind, this wine had a medium yellow center and clear rims. The medium intensity nose put forth apple, toffee, and pear with a hint of oxidation.

In the mouth, this wine was medium bodied with excellent acidity and great length. It was overall nicely balanced.

This bottle was a bit funky at first but improved substantially with air. I hope the oxidative note is not representative of other bottles. I don't recall running into that before.

October 24, 2021 - Ripe and rich with pineapple, tropical fruit, dried extract, cake and caramel. It initially shows the big and oily CC character yet the acidity blossoms with time in the glass. Classic CC that is drinking very well now.

June 2, 2021 - Showing botrytis and some age-appropriate oxidation, but only a little. This is really interesting and complex wine - it is stony and yet sweet, full of verve.

November 25, 2019 - Nose was opulent with ripe orchard, creme brulees, dried extracts and tropical fruit. Ripe and powerful on the palate with lots of acidity and round fruit. Still surprisingly young and vibrant, which will require time to develop secondary note. Lots of life left for bottles in pristine condition. 92++

November 14, 2019 - This replaced a corked 1992 Raveneau Chablis - Butteaux which was paired with 1992 Raveneau Chablis - Montee du Tonnerre

Cleaner nose than my last bottle, more yellow fruited than I normally find in this wine. Decent acidity, solid finish.

April 1, 2018 - Starts off a little muted and sleepy. It wakes up after 30 minutes and really gets going. The ripe fruit is balanced by good acidity and the fine aged notes. It's too bad they don't make them like this anymore.
