March 27, 2014 - orange, brown, red, in the color. dried fruit, blueberry, earth, sweet, spice, pepper, cocoa, wood fibers, on the nose. mild acid, on the finish.

July 31, 2013 - Shocker of the year. Five spice and brown sugar with strawberry jam. Just amazing fruit for a high alcohol wine with this amount of age on it. Perfectly integrated and balanced, if not just a tad brownish in color. A truly spectacular example of California Zinfandel from the '70s that everyone we shared it with (and we were trying to keep it to ourselves...) was blown away by. Bought 2 of these at auction for twenty bucks each, I can't wait to drink the second one!

October 9, 2010 - Candylike, very very sugary. So different from the 77, think it wasn't stored well.

August 14, 2008 - Wow! What can I say. This wine is still going strong. Nice color, not too brown and still very showing a nice cherry red color. A 15.9% monster late harvest with 95% zin and 5% petite. A little hot but otherwise showing nice fruit.
