April 24, 2016 - Sadly this bottle was dead. The cork crumbled into pieces and the wine was totally shot.

March 14, 2015 - Back at Berns (Tampa): I wasn't sure about this with my first sip, but I came around quickly and this became my WOTN. Outstanding red fruit and dried roses on the nose and palate. With time, this got sweeter and took on superb spice. Vibrant and youthful and I am stunned how well this is showing given the age. Perfect finish with outstanding grip. Wonderful!

February 8, 2008 - Great Older Wines at the Place to Drink Great Older Wines; 2/8/2008-2/9/2008 (Tampa FL): Great color still has plenty of red. After 60 years, still plenty of red fruit with great spice. spice kept unfolding more and more in glass. From a great, classic Burgundy vintage, this still has plenty of acidity that provides great energy and enthusiasm on the long finish. This is why we are in Tampa.

February 8, 2008 - LdC does Mecca - Friday Night (Tampa): Full deep red color. Lovely lively red fruit with shocking energy and good acidity with a long finish. Just as good if not a hair better than the June bottle.

June 3, 2007 - Not a virgin anymore - My first dinner at Bern's (Bern's Steakhouse, Tampa, FL): Dinner at Bern's. Nice rich ripe creamy red cherry fruit with good earthy quality. A delicious wine that tasted amazingly fresh for a sixty year old. Truly great.
