December 24, 2023 - Personally. I would give this another 5-10 years to soften a little as it should have a very long life ahead. Still tightly coiled with great underlying material.

December 3, 2023 - Big cassis and blueberry nose, not quite jammy. Impressive in its way, though I'm not compelled to chase it. 94(+?)

August 23, 2023 - Les Degustateurs last tasting for a dear friend (Smyth and the Loyalist Chicago, IL): Youngest wine of the flight. Deep berry color, tight tannins, sweet finish, super body and weight on the palate. So youthful. Wait to try again in 5 years and can go another 15+. BUY.

July 22, 2023 - Great choice with Denver steak. Matched the full flavor of the steak and and moderately spiced dry rub very well. Fruits were distinct but not heavy on the palate, a fullness of the fruit profile that was combined with a light touch of minimality.

September 29, 2022 - Really dark, plump fruit, good nose, tannins still there, good long finish, just needs more time+5years. Hold/Buy

March 16, 2022 - Decanted briefly but needed 90 minutes to begin to yield. Massively structured, classic-style Napa Cab with of course fabulous blackcurrant fruit and substantial acid. We enjoyed it once it opened but I have to think better days lie ahead. 96+

March 12, 2022 - The cork crumbled and broke into pieces, filtered and let in the decanter for about 1.5 hour. Then rebottled and taken to the restaurant to consume one hour later.

The wine is big and youngfull, solid tannins with a full arrange of dark and dry fruits, leather and mocha in the background. At this point it have a nice acidity and tannins ratio, this can go the distant as expected. We played with it for about 2 hours so it was a total of 4+ hours since touching oxygen and it never backed down, it got better and better as long as the night went on. The food pairing wasn’t the best but it was a night for seafood.

This wine can be enjoyed now but it will only gain complexity with more time. 95+

October 2, 2021 - Extremely well crafted and enjoyable... but I question the tariff on these wines. You can consume a Pulido, Bevan, Morgado, or Peter Michael for 60 percent less money and still enjoy the same premium experience.

Removed from a 54 degree active cabinet and let slow ox for 1 hour. Inviting nose of dark cherry, blueberry preserves, and menthol. Slight browning to the rim on pour. Fruit still well apparent but slowly fading to the background. Not much secondary characteristic here as I was hoping for. Was anticipating some umami, mushroom, truffle essence... Albeit dissapointed.

Tannin is resolved....and the wine shows a silky/seamless texture. Just expected more for the price point. When dropping this type of coin... I would much prefer Colgin.

November 9, 2019 - It’s very good if this is the kind of thing you’re yearning for - modern, bold, oaky, intensely fruity. Still seems on the young side but it is presumably what it’s supposed to be. I can understand why some are enamored of it even if I am not.
