April 12, 2010 - Big wine - 15% ABV, lots of oak, med-firm tannins. Strong fruit-forward body of blackberries, raspberries and smoke.

September 14, 2009 - Solid Zin. Ravenswood rarely disapoints.

September 20, 2008 - Easily one of the best Zins I tasted this year. Classic Zinfandel wild berries & spice. Lots of raspberry on the nose and palate. Great balance of tannins, fruit, acid & spice. Nice long finish with spices and coffee notes apparent.

July 21, 2008 - Rather uninteresting out of the bottle and didn't go much beyond that. Minimal nose, developed a bit fruit during the meal but never really became what I look for in a Zin.

June 10, 2008 - overly tart out of the bottle. fruit came out a bit with time. however, still a bit thin. agree with strawberries over tanins. just not what i was looking for.

January 24, 2008 - Felt the same as the previous taster. Reserved Zin but to me wasn't all that balanced, seemed a little awkward at times so a little cellar time will probably improve this some. My tastes though go to the bigger in your face Zinfandels.

September 14, 2007 - Dickerson was best of this bunch. Straightforward Zin. More balance and refinement than expected--is that a good thing with Zin? I enjoy over-the-top, unfiltered, huge, raw Zins, and this one missed. In its defense, Ravenswood has never made wines of this style. A solid bottle. They are coming back!
