May 7, 2022 - We have drunk a range of the Potel 2005s. This has some charms -- a restrained, spicy complexity -- but is still a letdown after the Volnay, mostly because the acidity has more or less vanished, so the wine lacks some zip.

December 23, 2019 - Weekly tasting group RWP #355: Some random wines (@ DJ): Rustic bouquet with some minerals and cherries. On the palate raspberries and cherries, earth, herbs and spices, stone, firm acidity and slightly sticky tannin.

March 26, 2018 - Last and best bottle. Very nicely balanced. In it's window.

February 5, 2014 - Lovely villages wine. Nice fruit profile, gentle but intense palate. Good oak and acid balance. Delicious.

Burgundy-Report

(Potel Nicolas Gevrey-Chambertin) This wine also starts a little slowly the glass, but after a short while the aromatics become quite interesting with faint coffee supporting a nice black fruit profile. In the mouth this is very wide and concentrated with a little grain to the tannin. There’s real mid-palate intensity and just a little oak texture on the long finish. Very high-class villages.
