March 29, 2024 - In a fantastic spot right now. Full nose of petroleum and lime. You can definitely tell on the nose that this is a mature Riesling from a top producer. The sweetness from the spatlese has calmed down and the Wine is very well integrated on all parameters. Long piercing finish driven by the acidity.

January 1, 2024 - white flower and tropical notes on the nose. apricot, honey, ripe peach, and a touch of minerality on the palate. sweeter than i expected for a Spatlese but impeccably balanced nonetheless. a seering streak of Mosel acidity runs through this wine from start to finish. a wine of great precision and finesse. it delights as it dances across the tongue. this is why you drink Riesling from the Mosel. another great effort by Fritz Haag!

March 12, 2023 - Mid-golden-bronze colour with bright edges. Gorgeous lifted floral notes displaying white flowers, jasmine, lilies, mango and ripe nectarine. Penetrating.
The entry is overt with lemon verbena and Valencia orange wedges, a smooth slaty texture and great concentration. Direct, piercing acidity courses through the palate to balance the noted RS and keeps everything in harmony. Pure and precise, this is a superb Riesling showing well and finishing long, linear and focussed and closing with crushed white flowers towards a bouquet of flowers.

February 4, 2022 - Still drinking extremely well but time to drink up.
    Amazing concentration for 7.5 % alc !
    Riesling remains under-appreciated.

February 7, 2021 - This has developed quicker than I expected, especially color-wise. Nevertheless, the sugar-acid-balance is impeccable and the low alcohol content makes this a perfect Sunday afternoon drink. You can't go wrong with a Fritz Haag riesling, be it dry, semi-dry or sweet. All their wines always show finesse and have this filigranity that I love so much and tend to look out for in Mosel wines. Fully mature but will hold for a few more years.

November 25, 2020 - Drinking really well still.
Enno was right; great pairing with spicy squash soup.
Beautifully balnced wine. THe RS worked wonders with the spices.

June 20, 2020 - This was beautiful and in its drinking window now and the next 5 years at least. A touch sweeter than I was expecting, but a single ice cube helped this and kept the wine perfectly chilled in the hot and humid afternoon sun.

March 3, 2019 - The first impression remains sweet, but as before once in combination with dessert or cheese that declines.
There is so much pleasure in this wine, but with food. Not an aperitif.
    Stoney lime.

February 24, 2019 - Notes of honey, tropical fruit, herbs and crushed stones on the nose. Nice rich- and sweetness on the palate, but lots of minerality and acidity, creating a very vibrant and almost weightless sensation. Fine length. Drinking beautifully, but no rush. 91-93
