  October 27, 2023 - At the estate in camara de Lobos. Tasted by the glass. No idea when the bottle was open. Dark hue brown. Nose tertiary; dust, old house, eucalyptus, noble pen ink. Palate a little bonish (after the electrical Sercial 2001) , but still brown caramel, liccorice stick, coughing sirup. Moderate power, remaining mineral living. Medium sweat, very complex and finaly delicate and balanced 93.

  April 29, 2023 - A bit stinky on first opening. Took a week to blow off but never quite lost that slight staleness. Underneath is a good wine but for the same money, the D'Oliveiras 1971 is a cleaner, sharper, more defined and tbh, a better wine. Not rated.

  May 12, 2016 - A very playfull Terrantez; third time we tasted it; it has a very appealing roasted toasty stile, medium bodied compared to the 54. impressive, even after a few century old wines.

  May 17, 2006 - Madeira: ancient & modern (LIWSF, London): This has 72.5g/l residual sugar. It’s a slightly lighter teak colour, tending towards a greenish tinged tan. A little muddy on the nose and very figgy. On the palate, it’s very much in the shadow of the 1978 and quite simply in a different league.
