March 2, 2016 - I do not know how earlier drinkers could have described this as light or insipid. My bottlle is in the early stage of maturity, but a big, dark robust wine with prune, licorice and tarry flavours. Though I am drinking it neat as I write, it would be ideal with big beef dishes. This is quite complex and long on the palate and has at least six years ahead of it.

Gigondas: Rhone's Little Secret, Episode #505, 7/21/2008 (link) 86 points(Guigal Gigondas) #3; VaynerPAZZZ; COLOR-dark; NOSE-very vegetal (green asparagus); black pepper & black licorice; beef jerky; very interesting; very Old World; TASTE-very thin on my palate (Lindsey Lohan/Olsen Twins); solid effort; strawberry and ice cream "Chocolate Taco"; little bit of tar; completely absent on the mid-palate and the finish is a little awkward & green; also a little hazel nut on the finish which is nice; RP-90; GV-86
