May 14, 2017 - Tasted blind. Very earthy, dusty nose. Dark fruit, mushrooms combined with high acidity. I thought I was a Rioja at first. Was quite tight on the palate, dense and cool, but with very fine tannins. Took about 30 minutes to open up. Nice now and I'm not sure it will improve greatly with more age.

March 16, 2017 - Wow- needs 20 min in the glass to open up. Outstanding balance, spice box and great lingering finish. Certainly in prime with ability to age 10 more years but will not improve. What a great wine. Great value.

February 10, 2017 - Dark, and more than a bit funky. Full of earth-driven, more mushroomy tones and black fruits. Mature, but large-scaled and still a firm, fine tannic frame that's a bit obtrusive. Decanting could probably help. Nice wine.

February 4, 2017 - tannish burgundy red, medium clarity, brickish hue
Nose: blackberry, cassis, leather, cola, orange rind, juniper berries, black pepper, vanilla, green herbs, oak
Pal: blackberry, cassis, plum, leather, wet earth, tar, cola, orange rind, bay leaf, juniper berries, dark chocolate, black pepper, smoke, stem, tannins, oak, some complexity
    Feel: full, acidic
    Finish: long

(definitely not ready, tight, needs more time)

October 11, 2016 - Nice wine, consumed rather quick at a party/offline. Still some richness in the well focused dusty fruit, with nice Sangio tang and pleasant finish. Good drinking now and several more years.
