March 16, 2024 - Needs time to open up. Got better over the course of an hour plus
December 15, 2023 - Stone fruit, Meyer lemon, touch of orange with accents of burnt sugar and oak spices. Med+ acidity. Great intensity and depth.
November 23, 2023 - Golden color, stone fruits on nose, a pleasing level of acidity in a finish that still shows some oak along with some apple notes. Very good, oak is integrating nicely, think this will peak in next year or two but will surely have a long plateau
May 19, 2022 - Meyer lemon, lemon drop, cheese; high acidity; pronounced flavour intensity; palate is tarter with addition of caramel and shortbread; long finish; rounder and sweeter than other wines in line up; tasted at winery
April 24, 2022 - Woof the oak needs time. Too young. Positive reviews on CellarTracker encouraged me to act against my best judgment.
February 4, 2022 - Wow. I like the change in winemaking to less oak and more delineation. Very smooth yet focused minerality with peach and pear flavors. This durell is very well done with much less of the oak influence yet still bearing the full flavor profile
December 19, 2021 - golden, lots of clarity, silvery hue
Nose: peaches, roses, orange rind, touch butterscotch, sage, mint, stones, wax, minerals, oak
Pal: ripe peaches, ripe pear, orange rind, butterscotch, sage, vanilla, stones, wax, minerals, oak
Feel: full, round
Finish: long
T9 (could be an 8 but expect to improve with age)
November 12, 2021 - Durell comes across richer and more complete in my estimation the the Hudson Vineyard. Tropical fruit such as pineapple are present with a bit of butterscotch. Good acidity, some mineral character.
I do double decant these young whites to open then up a bit.
