December 24, 2014 - Let it open in a decanter for 60 minutes before tasting. May have been a defective bottle. Still tasted ok, but not as great as the other Jonata bottles I have tasted. Have one more of this vintage left and will see if it was just this bottle.

August 31, 2014 - Opened a bottle I acquired from Jonata's library offering. Nice round black fruits, well integrated tannins and a long finish would be the way I would sum it up. Drank this over two hours and after two hours, the wine got more balanced between the fruit and the structure and became more elegant as the evening progressed. You can definitely open and drink this now, but if you like the fruit to be balanced and the finesse to show, I would recommend a 90 minute decant at a minimum.

May 9, 2014 - A dense pitch black blend of 92% Cabernet Sauvignon and 8% Merlot. Aggressive nose of cassis, espresso, and blackberry. Succulent palate of berry and grilled steak rounded off by a smooth earthy finish. Jonata is easily making the best Bordeaux styled wines in Central Coast California. Plenty of tannins and years left.

October 28, 2013 - Like others have said, a huge wine that needs significant air time if you're drinking now or needs to sleep. Very good.

Purchased for $80 from Hart Davis Hart on 10/23/2013.

April 16, 2013 - Almost black in color. Wonderful nose of creme de cassis and caramel. full bodied but still elegant. Nicely integrated tannins. The wine is very well structured, almost to "perfectly" as it may seem a bit made. Great potential but requires significant more time. Potential for 1-2 pts more. Drink 2018 - 2030.
