September 12, 2022 - Must be some significant bottle variation because this bottle was far better than the last one. Very modern extracted style, but with that norther rhone olive brine very prevalent. This was tasty, but is not wine for the discrete old world palate, this is a bold one. Drink now-2026

February 23, 2022 - Syrah, Shiraz, Rhone Showdown (Charlotte, NC): 90 minute double decant; needed 3 hours. Can age another 5 - 10 years. Color was dark and intense. Although the nose was tight early, given some time, it revealed pure fruit aromas. Soft on the mouthfeel, notes of delicate cherries on the palate really shined. Clean drinking wine with an easy finish. Really good wine that is perfect for the post-Parkerized world. One vote for “Surprise of the Night”.

April 27, 2019 - Decanted for about an hour and then drank over the course of a leisurely dinner. Cooked black fruit and anise/licorice with some floral notes on the nose. Still had some strong tannins. Paired beautifully with grilled NY strip.

February 9, 2018 - Wow. This lost in the back of the cellar 18 year old wine is still fantastic. Blackberry, pepper, griping tannins on the finish. Delicious and paired perfectly with grilled rib eye. First vintage of Relentless was truly special. Too bad this is my last bottle.

January 27, 2018 - Decanted for an hour. Fully mature, lots of sweet woody acid and not much fruit. Never drank one of these young but I'm not sure it's ideal for aging. Not too different from most 20-year old Cabernets but it's a syrah.

October 13, 2017 - Give this baby some air! First night pop and pour, it was flat and hot and I almost poured it down the drain. Vacuumed it and put it in the fridge instead. Second night it was opening a little and then after an hour or so it blossomed: nose of garrigue and roasted meat, on the palate licorice, vanilla, and baking spices. Glad it finally relented.

November 4, 2015 - Amazingly delicious. Given the 'traveling' this wine went through in it's youth, it was suspect, but fortunately, it shined! Bought in Texas shortly after release, transfered to Phoenix and eventually Montana. Beautiful clear, dark garnet in color. Peppery and cherry nose. Rich, intense, yet elegant palate with lovely currant, blackberry, anise, and spice flavors. Slight tannins remain, great structure, long, clean finish. Well concealed oak and alcohol. Very fresh tasting and still youthful. So happy to have one more. Drink by 2020.
