January 13, 2023 - Nose of tar, loganberry, conifer bark. Palate is vibrant with restrained black and purple fruit, dry forest floor, eucalyptus, hint of porcini on the finish, medium full body, bright acid, elegant silty fine tannins. Great bottle drinking in its prime!

June 13, 2019 - It was fun to check in on this old friend after a decade or so, and to my surprise, it had not budged an inch. Evident alcohol on the nose, which is less prominent on the palate, with a fennel aspect balancing the concentrated red fruit. Not for everyone, but quite enjoyable for me. No rush here.

August 5, 2017 - I may be shy 1 or 2 points on my rating. This was pop and pour from a magnum. Wow! Medium red fruit bouquet. Really full, full bodied. Heavenly dark cherry and blackberry, some pepper on the finish. Lots of concentration and structure. This magnum probably had at least another 5 years of peak drinkability.

March 25, 2016 - this is how I want all PR GSM to drink. wonderful nose of violets and stewed fruits. on the palate, sour cherry and blueberry and nice acidity to balance. 10+ years and this is showing no signs of fading. drink now or hold, good either way, but why wait
