January 21, 2023 - Muted nose in the beginning that took 20 minutes to open up. Pronounced aromas of honeysuckle, citrus and stone fruits, wet stones, saline, butter, marzipan, toasty oak, and smoke. High acidity, slightly waxy texture in a good way, superb concentration of flavors and energy on the palate, and a long saline finish. Shows the promise of Raveneau even in a so-so vintage.

August 19, 2017 - Still light yellow. Wonderful Chablis aromas of sea breeze and herbs-nothing overly ripe or fat about it. Medium weight, which is to say on the lighter side for Raveneau. Not fruit driven at all. An example of "less is more" this vintage in the Raveneau stable. Much less tropical, more discrete oak than either the Clos or the Montée de Tonnerre, and as such, a more successful bottle that is close to its apogee now. Completely different (and much more positive) experience than the one other time I tasted it 8 years ago.

August 13, 2017 - Tasted over 2 hrs at restaurant
-translucent light gold green
-waxy lemon no oxidative notes
-med- acidity, med- weight but quite rich and deep, faint faded lemon, trace heat and oak on finish
-still youthful, richer with less Chablis typicity than usual partly the cuvée and partly the vintage but still with all of Raveneau's typical elegant power -

July 23, 2017 - PnP. Very fragrant citrusy nose. In the mouth, I get cantaloupe, lemons, and certainly caramel. Some minerals linger on the tongue. Good length, excellent finish. Paired nicely with my shrimp gazpacho. I did enjoy this.

February 17, 2016 - Classic sea brine, iodine and lemon on the nose. Tart, citrusy palate with a spicy and chalky texture that works well with food. The finish is a little clipped but other than that an excellent Chablis from a warmer year.

1/9/2009 (link) 94 points(François Raveneau Chablis 1er Cru Monts Mains) Pale yellow color; intriguing, floaty lemon chiffon with preserved lemon notes on nose; very tasty, minerally, baked lemon palate with complexity and depth; medium-plus finish
