April 11, 2024 - Has smoothed some since opening the first bottle on release. Gorgeous. A little grapey but otherwise well balanced. It tastes great but smells even better.

March 13, 2024 - Beautiful now. Still has legs for a few years. Balanced in all regards, fruit, acid, tannin, feel, finish.

January 26, 2024 - This is solid. Would have guessed burgundy if served blind.

January 7, 2024 - This is in a perfect drinking window right now. Everyone at our dinner party raved at how good it was. DD Laurene never disappoints!

December 21, 2023 - If I was handed this blind, I would call it a high-end premier cru Savigny Les Beaune or Pommard. It has very expressive aromas on pop & pour, with a lot of ripe cherry and subtle earthy shrubby herbs. Palate is a pop of red and blue fruit, zings of candy and citrus, but the underlying wet leafy & mushroomy thing we all love about Burg. Medium plus acidity, medium body, 13.9% ABV, but drinks like 13, very nicely balanced. Finish lasts several minutes. This thing is polished, plush, and really really delicious.

September 8, 2023 - Full body, lots of fruit, good tannins, still young and should develop, a big wine for DDO, no subtlety but complex flavors, 2019 appears to have a very good year for DDO, drank with magret of duck with blackberry gatronique and saffron basmati rice, will drink again, looking forward to the 2019 Louise.

July 5, 2023 - Return to Willamette; 7/2/2023-7/8/2023 (Portland & Willamette): More bright fruits, darker red berries. 20-25% of new French oak. Soft. Lots of baking spice. Easier style but get the feeling this has the stuffing to age a bit more. Still more quiet. Quicker finish than I expected.
