June 11, 2017 - Wine drank beautifully. Balanced, smooth and still some fruit holding.

September 23, 2015 - A bit stewed right out of the bottle, which was surprising as the last two bottles of this were stellar. With a bit of time, that stewed-ness wore off a bit, exposing the rich dark fruit behind. Past the fruit, there is a fine balance with ample acidity and a strong finish. Very Good to Outstanding. thedrunkencyclist.com

January 16, 2015 - Still drinking well. Amazing since it is an 06 California Pinot. Shows the value of a 56* cellar with a good wine. Glad I have 3 more bottles.

January 4, 2014 - Pale red, almost orangish color. Fruit had dark berry and cherry, with vanilla-oak, and earth on the end. Lingering medium finish with a nice warming mouth feel. Fruit, tannins and acidity were well integrated. Wish I had more.

August 17, 2013 - There are times in ur life when you would love to get a do-over. This wine made me want to go back in time and buy more of this I got it for a great price and the wine is still rocking. Moral? Ignore my wife. Outstanding. thedrunkencyclist.com

June 18, 2013 - Retail $50. I let my wife chose the wine on this Father’s Day (I provided her three choices–I am not completely insane) and a fine choice it was. Every time I pop open a Dutton-Goldfield I say the same thing: I need to get more of this stuff. Incredible nose of classic Russian River/Green Vally fruit; the kind of nose that you can easily engulf you. The palate was more of the same–great balance and acidity. It also had a bit of heft along side a silky elegance which paired wonderfully with the grilled pork chops. Outstanding. 91-93 Points.

June 25, 2011 - Smelled like V8 juice upon opening. After an hour in the decanter it opened up nicely. Candied cherry, rasberry, cranberry. Dark color by pinot standards. Will be better in a few years I think.
