July 4, 2018 - Good mature red but with no bricking.
Lovely red fruit on the nose. Soft stewed strawberry, a quick lift of orange zest, some cherries, some spice. But also a rather odd bready note.
Very elegant, poised palate. Red fruit, of course, but it's got a nice freshness. Some meatiness (cured meat?) adds weight. Maybe lacking complexity, and there's not really much length to talk about. But it's a very nice, easy wine.

November 22, 2013 - The last bottle of the case, still drinking quite well, quite a tasty light burgundy

April 5, 2012 - Quite dark and medium body. Showing some evolution, the nose is quite elegant, wafts of cherries and a little leather, it's missing a bit of acidity now, but the length isn't bad and it's quite an enjoyable bottle

(Potel Nicolas Santenay Clos Tavannes) A fine and fresh nose that slowly deepens, again plenty of interest. Bigger and more concentrated than the Volnay VV but with a sophisticated structure. It might benefit from a little extra length, but it's a very friendly and easy to drink wine.
