October 15, 2022 - Superb
May 16, 2022 - Been picking up 2001 Bordeaux as it’s easier to find than 2000 and seems to hold up better.
Surprising youth. Great structure and fruit. If you open this soon let it breathe for several hours. Wish I had more.
March 28, 2022 - so good.
March 23, 2022 - Medium weight. Decent aged Bordeaux. Balanced, medium fruit, some acid. Drinking well right now. Probably at its peak.
January 3, 2022 - really nice bdx. bottles with good provenance should be drinking well here, no signs of decline.
December 7, 2021 - Drinking well here with just some slow ox. Fairly lean purple fruit and nice acidity. Drink up in next few years.
February 11, 2020 - Drinking really nicely here. Needs decanting to show.
January 5, 2020 - Somewhat disappointing. Lots of character with too much thinness to compete in this class
December 25, 2019 - Corked. Disappointed because I can taste just enough through the corked notes that it seems like a decent wine at this stage.
November 6, 2015 - The wine is clear (very little sediment) and medium garnet in colour.
The nose is clean with pronounced aromas of baked dark fruits (plum), dried fruit such as fig and raisins, herbs such as menthol, oak such as clove and vanilla, tertiary development such as leather, dark chocolate, savoury and mushroom. It is developing.
The palate is dry with medium fine tannins, medium alcohol, medium acidity, medium (+) body, pronounced flavours of plum, dried fig, menthol, leather, chocolate and savoury. The finish is long.
The wine is outstanding. It is complex, mainly from the tertiary bottle and age development, with pronounced intensity. The tannins are well integrated and well balanced with acid, alcohol and developed fruit. The finish is long.
The wine can be drunk now but is suitable for further ageing. It has the structure and some remaining primary fruit to develop further, although I'm not convinced how much better it will get. Drink in next 5 years.
