January 4, 2024 - Having purchased a case of this before the holiday, it diminished rapidly because it became our goto wine for many dinners. Universally well received, it is also almost a universal solvent and paired with almost every dinner dish or plate of cheese. Consumed half a case over Christmas, ordered another case as I also think it will age nicely.

December 8, 2023 - Moderate color, Grenache dominates this reasonably complex wine, the Mataro and Carignane show in the middle. Soft and supple, with good flavors and weight, a real value GSM.

November 29, 2023 - Plum, oak, smoke, vanilla, and some eucalyptus when I really thought about it. Was expecting pepper on the nose but it only appeared when I tasted it. Pretty savory overall but definitely has enough fruit for balance. The tannins here are smooth too. An overall great value for only $20. If this is one of their entry level bottles I’d love to try something higher end.

November 25, 2023 - Juicy, ripe red fruit, cherry & raspberry. Not a big wine and that ripe fruit is balanced with some acidity & minerals. Really Rhône like if just slightly more fruit forward. Quite enjoyable.
I’ve had the Juveniles here & there over the years & mostly liked it. I never realized that there’s only a little Shiraz in the blend. 47% Grenache, 32% Mataro, 10% Carignan, 9% Counoise, 2% Shiraz.

November 22, 2023 - Torbreck's 2021 Cuvée Juveniles is a deep ruby blend of 47% Grenache, 32% Mataro (Mourvèdre), 10% Carignan, 9% Counoise and 2% Shiraz that was aged in a combination of stainless steel tanks and French oak foudres. Aromatically effusive of blackberries, Bing cherries, smoked meat, Asian spices and black olives, it additionally emits a tolerable whiff of Brett. Medium-to-full-bodied, fresh, softly tannic, minimally oaked and with well-integrated alcohol (14.5%), it delivers flavors mirroring the aromas and stays solid on the mid-palate. Concluding with medium length, this is an enjoyable, albeit not particularly complex Côtes du Rhône analog. Bottled under screwcap, it was opened, poured and serially tasted over two hours. Give it at least 30 minutes in glass or decanter so that some minor reductive notes can dissipate. Drink now-2028.

Suave sweet berry aromas. Fresh and purple. Red and black fruit salad to the palate.
Comprised of Grenache that’s upto 150yrs old
Mourvèdre & Carignan planted in 2016
    Counoise planted in 2017
    And a little Shiraz.
But mostly the Old Vine Grenache.

May 2, 2023 - Nice wine, very drinkable. Quite a bit of brett, which I don't mind, but not something I'm accustomed to seeing at all in Australian GSMs - a bit more like a southern Rhône, which I like!
