July 21, 2021 - Wow! This is fantastic for an LBV. Very dark color. Lifted dark roasted coffee nose, orange peel, and a touch of earth. The initial palate is HUGE. Really big. A touch of heat. Maybe missing a bit of complexity. But wow, is it expressive! Long, long, long (did I say long) finish. My previous bottle of this was the worst VA infected bottle of Port that I've ever had. But this was perfect!

January 17, 2011 - I have little port experience so I am not scoring this 90 but in a range, 90-95. However from what I have experienced this is MUCH better on night 2 and probably stay corked for another 2 years to mellow as the first night was very, very tight.

    Night 1
Black fruits on the palate and nose, some spice, floral violets, fig and plum fruits too. Very tight texture and shorter than I would expect on the finish

    Night 2
The palate is much more expressive and open, the texture is much friendlier and giving to deeper flavors, the aromas are about the same, the length however is much more generous, developing nicely.

    Night 3
Not so great, drink within 2 days optimally

November 9, 2010 - Clear deep ruby with ruby edges. Clean medium intensity aromas of plums, black cherries, licorice & cloves and vanilla oak with caramel edges. Sweet, medium tannins and acidity, medium full body. Red & black fruits on the palate, plums, spice, dried fruits & licorice too. Medium plus length with a cholately finish. A shame no Stilton was about when I tasted this...

March 1, 2010 - Impromptu tasting @ Peter Z. (Belgium): As a nightcap we drank a pure and unpretentious glass of Port. Supple and dangerously drinkable! Currants, cranberries, cherries, rumbonbons, it's all there. Not too sweet, not too spicy. The golden mean between the different kinds of Ruby Port out there. Excellent QPR. Would be happy to have this one as a 'house Port'. 16/20

January 10, 2010 - Dark garnet Red, nearly opaque, but light does pass through. Dried fruit on the profile, but not raisin. More of the direct Fig, apricot, and golden fruit variety. Althought this port has some viscosity, it still seems light on it's feet. It has a vibrance that pairs well with Chocolate, but drinks just as well alone. Great approachable 2003 Port!

September 17, 2009 - A bit less intense than my previous sample, but this was utterly delicious and continues to overperform in its category. Luscious, rich, mouthfilling and long.

July 15, 2009 - Another consistant performance. Excellent concentration of berry syrup and violets with beautifully integrated structure. Unusually concentrated for an LBV.
