April 7, 2024 - By the glass. Assyrtiko wine from the main Santorini cooperative vinified during fourteen months in contact with its lees in stainless steel tanks. On the nose citric and floral basic aromas. Devoid of any complexity. On the palate acidity is intermingled with exotic fruit flavors on the medium palate, with a drying finish of river stone under the sun. Suitable profile to taste it on a tourist terrace overlooking the Athenian Acropolis. Anything else.

March 20, 2024 - nose is full of ripe, tropical fruit, a touch of honey. the palate is not as concentrated as the nose, on the lighter side. really refreshing with a meal

September 27, 2023 - Overall an interesting light white wine that is somewhat different from the usual suspects. Aromas of underripe peach, tropical fruit, and salinity, but all are quite mild. Also light on the palate, but some tropical fruit and salinity come through, along with a mild foxy grape skin note. Low acid. Good with food, and on its own.

August 19, 2023 - On PnP, there is a slight “spritz” on the tip of the tongue; the nose has a sense of the sea but also strong perfume notes. While the color is light, The body is substantial with good “legs” on the glass. Taste is very fruity, followed by a dry but not overly tart finish.

July 24, 2023 - The scents are clear, a little sour, and floral.
It tastes like white flowers, subtle and smooth.
As the temperature increases, it has hints of white peach, green apple, and a bit of astringent. Overall, outstanding.

July 22, 2023 - One off ($21) from Costco about a month ago, bought primarily for cooking (and used in seafood risotto) but otherwise consumed. On the nose and palate, Meyer lemon, tart pineapple, rocky minerality, saline, oyster shell, wet grass with a slight mildew tinge and green apples. Light gold, light to medium bodied, medium legs. Fairly potent acidity, no heat. Good complexity and persistence, VG intensity. I’ve liked, but rarely buy, assyritikos, as food friendly and good SB substitutes, and this wasn’t an exception. Pleasantly tart and savory, this holds up well on its own and was better than expected accompanying sushi. Probably drinking near peak, but was good out of the bottle and has held well over 4 nights (I still think it’s a wine to consume now-next couple of years). Really nice for a warm evening and will pair well with oysters and white fish. It’s not quite at the level for me of some of the SBs I’ve had at +/- this price, but, as I once said of myself on a dating profile, you could do a lot worse, and I have. 90+

July 21, 2023 - 13.5% ABV. Pale gold appearance. Coravin pour.

Aromas of lemon drop, bruised apple, apricot, salty minerality, grass, smoke, vanilla, white pepper. Dense on the palate, lifted somewhat by medium+ acidity. Finish is shorter than ideal.

Ok wine that shows good complexity, but structurally, very forgettable. There’s also something a little off about the combination of aromas and doesn’t make this feel harmonious.
