February 13, 2021 - Dark fruits and currant followed by a velevty texture with integrated, rich tannins and beautiful flavors including cassis and vanilla oak. Very inviting, unctuous wine - excited to see that this is still singing. Catena zapata is quite the power house.

p.s. homemade pozole with mexican street corn...heaven

May 28, 2019 - A testament to the quality when the basic blended Malbec ages so well and exceeds all expectations. Punches way above it's modest release price -crazy quality here for the $

September 22, 2017 - Opened two bottles with a group last night. Absolutely fantastic with grilled New York steaks and rigatoni. It is at its peak and I do not think it will get better. The flavors and mouth feel were delicious.

June 21, 2015 - Fine, restrained nose with dark fruits predominant. Good deep colour and expressive nose when it opened.
Lovely, typical Malbec with a great balance of rich, sweet fruit, spice, gentle acidity and tannin. Elegant, quite meaty, and long. Went very well with roast beef, tasted side by side with a much younger Vistalba Corte C 2013 which was a very drinkable, good wine but not quite in this league.
A fine wine, as expected from Catena Zapata.
Still plenty of life - no need to hurry......
