May 16, 2024 - Surprisingly refined and elegant. Think this will evolve and would like to revisit in a few years. Great drinking now. Almost untouchable value.

March 23, 2024 - A burgundian Nebbiolo - you can make Langhe Nebbiolo differently but not better...

January 17, 2024 - Lovely perfumed nose of roses, red fruit, dark cherry, really quite elegant on the palate, fine and gentle tannins. Absolutely lovely!

November 28, 2023 - This was very good. While it shows some Nebbiolo typicity, this really reminded me of a great mix between a Langhe Nebbiolo and a good Bourgogne as the fruit was cooler and a bit sweeter than I'm used to with Nebbiolo. Lovely balance. A good bit of tannin comes through on the finish. Should age well over the medium term.

April 18, 2023 - Tasted from a full bottle and over two days, the D'Arcy Langhe was even better than it showed at the Parcelle tasting in March. This time around, the wine showed the same sweetness and finesse, but with greater complexity.

On the nose, I found dark red berry and red roses, smoke, and a hint of baker's chocolate (not prominent). On the palate, the wine is richly textured (especially for a Langhe Nebbiolo) but also super smooth in texture, showing plenty of tannin but very high quality and well integrated already. Everything, tannin, acidity, and alcohol seems already in balance. I found smoky, dark red raspberry fruits, dark red roses, spices, and a hint of baker's chocolate on the finish. Similar to last time, the sweetness of the fruit tones stands out. This time, the wine came across as a bit more "burgundy" like than I recall last time, especially on day 2, with notes of smoke and baker's chocolate I didn't recall getting in the prior tasting. Tasted next to another high quality 2020 Nebbiolo (actually a 2020 Barolo sample), the D'Arcy Langhe stood out as being quite a unique expression of Nebbiolo and also showing a similar level of complexity and textural depth as another producer's (excellent) base 2020 Barolo.

March 6, 2023 - The ‘20 Langhe is an incredibly beautiful wine, and all I can ask for out of a Langhe Nebbiolo. On the nose, the wine opened a touch rustic, with leather, sour red cherry, and red roses, showing a beautiful red fruit and red floral profile enhanced by the rustic leather notes. On the palate, it impresses for the sweetness of the fruit and total finesse, coming across as very drinkable without noticeable tannin. I found candied red berry fruit and red florals, with medium to high acidity and nearly no perceptible tannin. It drinks like water, but is not diluted with nice depth to the fruit. I don’t get a ton of complexity out of this wine, and I’m not sure it will be better with age, but the purity of the flavors and the finesse is spectacular.
