August 10, 2022 - Ripe thick and viscous. Lots of sulfur notes but heavy on fruit

May 22, 2021 - Intensely rich start that made me fear this might be cloying or lacking energy, but nothing could be further from the truth. Ripe stone fruit with slightly sweet spice that seems slightly fat to start, but brighter and almost crunchy on its long-ish finish.

April 7, 2021 - I’ve been drinking a number of my 12-15 year-old Aubert Chardonnays recently, and, up to this point they’ve ranged from “meh” to outright disappointing. Tired and seemingly well past their peak. I was ready to conclude that I just need to drink them younger. And then I open this bottle, which was just singing! Everything you hope for in an aged Chardonnay. Some of the freshness of youth has given way to more mature characteristics: nuts, lemon curd, tropical fruits...but still drinking youthful for its age. My last bottle, but if I had more I’d drink them soon.

November 28, 2019 - I'm guessing that this Lauren has been about a dozen years in bottle. And yet, it seemed young with basic but not extravagant profile. I've enjoyed may Aubert Chardonnays over the years and the Lauren has usually been my favorite. The oak was quiet, the grass was barely noticeable and yet the balance was serene. Frankly, it could have been steel aged.
