January 29, 2024 - Amazing wine! Cork was soft but I was able to remove with a standard corkscrew...very carefully...

Deep-purple in the glass with just a slight brownish tint on the rim; wonderful blackberry on the nose with a hint of cedar; black & blueberry on the palate; long finish. I'd suspect this wine might be just over it's peak, but will still be great for five more years! 2nd to only to Grange for me so far when it comes to Australian vino to date!...

January 4, 2023 - After having the 2004 a couple of nights ago, which was drinking very well, we decided to open a 2002. 2002, showed signs of volatile acidity, which blew off after about two hours decanting. The wine was simply passed it’s peak.

Still showing signs of great tertiary development, chocolate, coffee, and well integrated tannins, however, the wind has reached and exceeded its peak.

December 26, 2022 - I was surprised, it has held of up very well - not as fruity as when it was younger, but still quite good. I just had the last glass of it 3 days later and it was still good. Don’t wait too long to drink it though - it has passed it’s peak and probably on its way down. I have a 2004 of the same wine and curious to see how that one held up.

August 13, 2021 - This wine is doing VERY WELL. And, after about 30-45 minutes this wine was actually showing some coconut graham cracker cookie, purple fruit, roasted black fruits and black pepper on the finish. This wine first seemed to finish a little lean and metallic but after opening and giving this one a few hours it really did quite well. Purple and black fruits, still rather youthful. Black pepper finish. Very complex. This wine has a lot of life ahead of it. The 2006-2016 drink date all depends on whether or not this one was kept in the pantry (above window) or was actually cellared well, in which event it will likely continue to drink well through about 2028.

April 4, 2015 - Don't understand the recent notes. Bought and stored since release. Beautiful development. Nothing heavy or obtrusive. Rich dark Aussie Shiraz plummy fruit with earth and focus. Plenty of acid. Surprised there wasn't any heat. 15% etoh. Sooo glad I bought these and waited patiently. My last bottle and the best of them all.
