March 3, 2024 - 80% Tannat, 20% Cabernet Franc. Maturing on the lees for 12-14 months in 60-80% new barrels, 14% vol.

Decanted 3 hours before dinner, that helped a lot to open. Quite different to the last bottle 3 and a half years ago, the primary fruit and the notes from the oak are gone, there is still some dark fruit, but in addition it shows tar and roses, on the palate good freshness and structure, medium to full bodied but still rather elegant and with good length.

In a nice place now, first maturity, the nose is more suptle than a couple of years ago and the tannins are still there but fine grained, quite Barolo like, it's the first time I get this from a wine from Brumont. Was perfect with the brasato we had. Drink within the next 8 to 12 years and give it a lot of air.

Point d'interrogation.

March 8, 2023 - Finaly opened one of my 2 bottles, purchased years ago from my very dear friend. It was our final wine on a georgeous night with friends. The wine showed marvelous. Beautifuly aged, harmonious, fresh. Great flow and depth, very good length. No need to rush. Great.

May 28, 2021 - Quite underwhelming and way below what we remembered from previous bottles. Possibly flawed, although no cork or other typical defects.

December 13, 2020 - Deep purple. On the nose aromas of medium intensity with blackberry, bramble, blackcurrant, blackcurrant leaf, damp earth, leather, tobacco, clove toast coconut. On the palate the wine is dry with high acidity, high fine ripe tannins (see prior note- they have certainly polymerized), high alcohol, full body. The flavor intensity is medium + with flavors of blackberry, bramble, blackcurrant, blackcurrant leaf, damp earth, leather, tobacco, clove toast coconut. The finish is medium + with layers of cocoa, blackberry, spice. The wine is outstanding, lovely now but still has many years left.

July 18, 2020 - 80% Tannat, 20% Cabernet Franc. Maceration for 3 to 6 weeks. Fermentation at 28°C, punching down of the pomace cap, malolactic fermentation in wooden vats. Maturing on the lees for 12-14 months in 60-80% new barrels.

Decanted 5 hours before dinner. Intense notes of black currant with a hint of tobacco, fresh and dense, concentrated and long, though quite classical and elegant, superb tannins. Improved a lot within the last three years, still very young, this little monster requires a long decant to show its potential, superb price to quality relation, will last at least another 10 years.

January 2, 2020 - Fabulous Madiran wine. After 15 years still a great and balanced red wine with the interesting tannat grape. Ripe cherries and earthy hints.
