December 28, 2022 - Rough edges resolved since last tasting 1.5 years ago. Drinking nicely. Certainly mature. Bricking on the edges; raspberry color in the middle. No nose. Blackberry and fig on the palate. Drink up.

January 24, 2022 - Decent, opened up after going through the venturi, deeper leather and oak notes, not much in the way of fruit, a little harsh at first, but mellowed a bit after sitting a few minutes. I would drink what you have now...

July 4, 2021 - 06 coming in hot! Enjoyable but, just as last time (1 yr ago), unbalanced and a little harsh out of the bottle. Drink soon.

November 8, 2020 - Lovely, elegant mature Gigondas. I’m delighted we have another 10 bottles to drink. Probably won’t wait to drink the rest. .

October 3, 2020 - Brawny and a little awkward out of the bottle but opened nicely after a short wait (15 minutes). Packs a real punch even for Pallieres....it has the trademark mineral streak and grippy tannins. As a lover of Gigondas and Pallieres I will say to my taste this isn’t the most finely tuned vintage...wild and vivacious a better description.

February 9, 2020 - Mostly a dark red, but starting to lean toward being brownish.
Had to run it through the venturi to get it to start opening up. Still tight, let it sit for another 30 minutes. Nose has dark deep cherry, as well as some mint and we felt a little coffee note.
Dry with some stronger tannins that gave quite a bite. Flavors were almost a burnt caramel/coffee, some mint and licorice as well dark cherry. The fruit notes were muted compared to tte tannins.
Fair bit of sediment on the bottle side, but it stayed put when gently pouring.

January 22, 2019 - This is still very tight on the outset, takes time to open up. In the VT vein: upright, airy, well knit together, focused. The fruit is pure, light-red, notes of garrigue in the background. From 60-100 year old vines. Will keep for a long time.

December 24, 2018 - Dark garnet with a distinct, not entirely laudable slight nose of a moldering forest floor ... takes time to open but gradually gives over to notes of damp garrigue herb, clove, and mushroom oil. A clean pour without much sediment. Cherry and notes with a hint of mint. Still years to go with lots of tannin and which may outlast the fruit. Quite dry with long finish with whiffs of bay leaf and coffee.

August 19, 2018 - Love this wine but not my favorite vintage. Tried twice so far -- 7/2016 and 8/2018 -- and both times was surprised to find it ho-hum. Strong and plenty of life left but not the spectacular I've come to expect from Pallières in other vintages.
