December 2, 2020 - Pristine cork. Decanted for a good amount of sediment, breathed for about one hour. This was drinking great. Nice dark fruit, blackberry, cassis, a little pipe tobacco. Smooth, integrated ripe tannins. REally nice, and while it has some early signs of development, it is still quite youthful for a 15 year old cab. Delicious.

November 11, 2018 - Corked! So disappointed after reading the recent notes. I have a few more bottles, so hope remains.

September 30, 2018 - Beware of this amazing wine. It is so, ready to drink. Outside of a French Bordeaux, I have not seen a darker California cabernet in the glass. It is dense. Minimal sediment. No flaws. Minimal sediment. Very, very old world nose. Dark florals and fruits in the nose. No tannin. Low acid. Medium alcohol. Long, long finish. Paired perfectly with grilled filet mignon, and, pan seared veal cutlet. So beautiful, and, so ready to enjoy.

May 3, 2018 - Cellared from release, open in bottle for an hour. First bottle opened 3yrs ago and it killed! Second tonight with some ginormous T-Bones...a bday gift to myself! I can almost copy and paste my last note...this is AMAZING! Nose to die for...liqueured berries, dusty graphite, white pepper, compost, florals. Balanced to perfection in the mouth, yet still youthful with polished tannins and mountain mineral firmness. Like I said before...you can taste the struggle, with its rocky mountain terrain. Complex Cab flavors, cedar spice, with aged polish. Can go 10+more years at least. Super wine!

February 27, 2017 - This was really spectacular. The fragrance exploded when I poured into the decanter and almost seemed to fill the room. Decanted for about 3 hours, returned to the bottle and took to a restaurant. Decanted again at the restaurant and enjoyed with wood grilled ribeye. wonderful depth and balance. This wine is drinking wonderfully right now. Hold if you please but I don't see a lot of improvement. Everything is beautifully resolved right now.

January 28, 2017 - Decanted four hours in the cellar, mostly in the cellar at 58 degrees. In addition to the air, the decant was crucial because there is a lot of sediment. Maybe half a teaspoon. This wine has lost a lot of its baby fat and has a flavor profile of red pit fruit, raspberries and some cedar wood. Strong acidity. Good balance. Dark color. We debated how long of a life it had left. At least 10 years, probably more like 20. Rebecca thinks it has reached its peak.I think it is still on an upward curve for another decade. No classic signs of cabernet age (leather, earthiness). A great wine to drink with a grilled boneless NY strip steak.

December 11, 2016 - Really, really good. Inky black plum in colour. Nose is intense, very primary with strong blackcurrant and dark berry, hints of sandalwood and leather with great persistence. Very full bodied on the palate but with excellent balance, shows loads of currant and dark plum fruit, soft to medium tannins and great balancing acidity. Dry but sweet on the finish. Absolutely delicious. Superb - best wine this year so far.

August 19, 2015 - Believe it or not…my first bottle from release! Inky black berry in color….WONDERFUL nose of crushed graphite, liqueured berries, compost, young leather, white pepper, fresh flowers. Has amazing youth still…the tannins are firm, yet stone polished….rich and juicy blackberry, red plum, blueberry, currant fruit…..spicy kick of dusty white pepper….has a cream to it like an oozing chocolate brownie…..totally rocky mountain terrain…you can taste the struggle….yet there is a polish of pretty florals. The only knock…maybe a little short and dry on the finish? Hell I'm reaching! This is a killer wine! Glad to have a couple more left!
