February 8, 2023 - This held up much better than I predicted. Fairly sweet, dusty and a touch herbal this has a good supporting acidity and the alcohol is well integrated. I would drink it up though.

October 8, 2021 - Cherry was super strong initially and mellowed over an hour.

August 7, 2021 - Still deep ruby, still a big rich wine. Plenty cherry liqueur and sweet red plum. Bit of warm spices. Decent acidity. Just a bit too high in alcohol and feel it is tiring a bit too. Drink up.

May 31, 2020 - Still deep ruby, still a big rich wine. Plenty cherry liqueur and sweet red plum. Bit of warm spices. Decent acidity. Just a bit too hot with alcohol which is poking out a bit. Tiring a bit too.

September 14, 2019 - Pure red grenache fruit, a syrupy texture, alcohol overtones. I'm sure at some point in time this wine was intensely delicious, and probably the fruit balanced the alcohol, but that was not this day. The huge rating this wine has is definitely trading on the memory of another time.

November 18, 2018 - Spicy ripe plums and blue berries with smoked clove and cedar. Powerful and complex nose. Palate is equally spicy and fruity, almost in your face presentation. The mid-palate is raw power and hot. Every elements are competing for attention. Need at least 2 hours for the palate to settle down with a more balanced mid-palate and finish. Drink it in 3 years’ time if you want a more relaxed wine.

Retasted in Feb 2020. More spicy and earthy bouquet than before. The blue berries fruits receded to the background. Still powerful and plummy from entry to finish. Somewhat hot in the finish. Some may find it simple and one dimensional in the mid-palate. No change in score.

September 3, 2018 - Last bottle, this came across better than the previous I drank, with the spice more in line with the rest of what was there to sample in terms of the fruit.

December 17, 2016 - See previous notes, essentially the same though I did not enjoy quite as much as I have in the past. My taste in wine is moving from the larger, overwhelming styles to a little more subtlety.
